Silencing Destructive Talk

Titus

Scripture References: Titus 1:10-16

From Series: "Titus"

Paul wrote the letter to Titus because of his concern that false teachers were spreading venomous doctrines in the church. These false teachers were probably Jews from Crete who were present at Pentecost (Acts2:11), it is possible that they brought the gospel to their native land and blended it with the belief that they need to obey the law and its practices in order to be saved. To address this concern, Paul wrote to Titus and provided a picture of what a healthy church looks like. A church that teaches the right doctrine, placing godly leaders in the church, and instructing members how to live a life of godliness.
